No upper case option. Shouldn't kids Learn those first?!? A little disappointing to say the least.

Good but needs improvement

My students need lots of repetition so it would be nice if the student could stay on same letter, also a voice saying the letter would be good.. One last thing, there should be no curlicues on the letters...just straight manuscript. Any additions to the letters are confusing. I'm not sure what a couple of the letters are. This is a really helpful app overall. I like it.

Clever, fun, helpful, love it!

We are a homeschooling family and I've been searching the app store for the best educational apps. This was one of the first I downloaded and it remains my favorite. When I show off my new iPod Touch, this app is always the one that gets parents and homeschoolers excited about the possibilities of this gadget. This inexpensive little app has drawn my kids in and helped them improve in one of their least favorite subjects (penmanship).

I have to disagree with the review concerned about problems with lifting your finger; with this style of handwriting you shouldn't be taking your finger off the surface, so I find this app to be IDEAL for helping to retrain my older children in the basics of proper letter formation as we prepare to learn cursive. The style of printing in this app is just one of many styles of handwriting, so you do need to recognize the style may conflict with how you were taught or how your child is being taught to print. Although I'm no expert on the subject, I believe that a program like this would really help to make the brain/body connection for kinesthetic learners. The price of the app is less than you would spend on any handwriting workbook, plus it's reusable and customizable. I would be very excited to see a cursive letter app as well as other printing style apps. What could improve this app: a mention somewhere of the particular style of handwriting used in the app, making a few letters a bit less finicky (I personally can't seem to get the letter 'd' right, but others don't seem to have this problem!)
